DMCNY member company MeritDirect recently named Karie Burt as senior vice president, international data, digital and omni-channel solutions and privacy officer of the multichannel marketing services firm.

Burt specializes in advising clients on data-driven B2B solutions, such as account-based marketing strategies. She’s especially skilled in working with international brands. Some of her global work since joining the company more than six years ago includes launching MeritDirect’s OmniChannelBASE International (a specialist global and multichannel database for B2B marketers), providing counsel to clients on cultural aspects of global marketing, and advising on data-driven solutions for consumer audiences beyond the U.S., which includes providing insights into European Data Protection legislation.

“As we leverage the company’s reputation for providing industry-leading data and technology solutions, MeritDirect continues to align key employees with proven a track record of strong performance and innovation in the marketplace,” MeritDirect’s CEO Rob Sanchez said in a statement.

Previously, Burt served as the company’s chief privacy officer, a position she’s held since 2018. Prior to joining MeritDirect, Burt served as SVP international for mardevdm2, part of Reed Elsevier. Before that she held senior sales management roles at Emap and MBC Direct.

“Karie brings extensive international data-driven marketing experience, as well as knowledge and experience of data privacy issues and specifically how they apply to the international landscape,” Sanchez added.

Burt will report directly to Sanchez. She’ll continue to serve as an advisor to clients and colleagues alike, offering guidance on data privacy best practices and compliance.
